Imagine training 20+ new hires in the same amount of time you used to train 2.
It’s all about turning your business knowledge and How To’s into engaging training content.
Then adding it to your onboarding process to get your new team members up and running faster than before.
If you want your team to implement things consistently, offering engaging trainings during their onboarding process will help you tremendously.
So what’s the best way to do this?
Set up your digital business playbook where new and current team members can find everything they need at their fingertips - from how to do their jobs to how to request time off when it’s time for a vacation. 🏖 🏝
This reduces the time you spend repeating the same things over and over again. It also creates self-managed teams that run your systems for you more consistently.
Here is how to set this up in your business in a relatively short period of time:
1. Outline your new hire onboarding process from A to Z
You can quickly draft this in a Google doc and start with 5 to 7 high-level steps.

2. Add details and training resources to each step
Next, you want to add a bit more detail to each step.
In addition to step details, you also want to add all the resources you need during your onboarding.
Hiring documents, specific job training videos, etc.
Keep things simple and keep your trainings short.

3. Pick your Systems Management Software/Digital Playbook Tool
Now that you have an outline of your new hire onboarding with detailed steps and additional resources, you’ve put more meat on the bone and it’s time to transfer this biz info to an SOP tool.
There are 2 key software options I would recommend - Trainual and Process Street.
I am pretty tool agnostic, meaning, your process is more important than the tool.
Everyone obsesses over tools and has an opinion on them but most folks have no clue how to create an effective process that works.
If you don’t have an optimized new hire onboarding process, transferring it to an SOP software tool won’t fix that.
But once you have a solid new hire onboarding process, picking the right tool can really elevate it.
Both software options I mention are great but I am growing more and more fond of Trainual.
And by the way, I am officially a Trainual certified jedi.
I don’t get paid to say this. As a matter of fact, I pass any benefit from my partnership with Trainual directly to my clients (because collecting commissions is just old school energy 🤷🏻♀️😆).

4. Transfer your new hire onboarding process to an SOP template
Once you have your new hire onboarding in place, you can easily set it up within an SOP software tool, using an SOP template or starting one from scratch.

Don’t forget to integrate it with your existing tools stack so things run smoothly.
Knowing how to train your team quickly will save you a ton of time. What’s even better is that your new hires will know how to do XYZ consistently, which will also help you create a more self-managed team. This is how you can step away from day-to-day work to focus on more growth.
I trust these suggestions will help you set up your new hire onboarding process and trainings seamlessly.
If you don’t know how to do this, I offer free 15-min Business Process Audits.
I can look at your processes and SOPs and even give you a short tour of Trainual.
So if you are interested, schedule your 15-min Audit and I’ll see you on Zoom 🤓.
